This work in progress i started about 3 weeks ago and finally have to the point where i wanna start getting ideas, help, feedback, testers and whatnot.

NAME: (not yet named----i was thinking Operation Driftwood or NOTD Recon(if thats not taken)
Style: Survival map(think NOTD(SO,AM) and UA

If you would like to be a beta tester, Co creator, idea giver just post it here or PM me.

ON THE LIST

-UNIT CREATION mainly heros17%

ok here comes my suggestions:

- for new play and veterans alike i would prefer the common starting classes: rifleman, navy corpseman.

those 2 should be able to handle the first parts of the game without problems (with half of the max players present in game)

Due to my recent discovery of the complete hero guide i have made 2 heros in half the time it took to make one Very Happy

current hero: Rifleman, Navy Corpseman, Designated Marksmen

@Andy: i was already going to make the them the first two classes. for the roflman nader suggestion i might put an Xp limit(like the desert eagle XPlimits in NotdAM) so Tkers half to at least play the game for a bit before they start trollin. also "spellbooks" don't really exist. i take it you mean submenus that can be accessed for class specific skill sets. also im currently trying to make it so if all players are riflemen/ NCs that there will be a negative buff for all infected and hostile units. this im doing this to make the learning curve easy for first time players

Map Update:
Ammo system is almost done, i just have to finish the eye candy (tooltip/icon)
heros: heros currently made: android/rifleman/DM/Machine Gunner/Assault man(demolitions expert)/Detachment commander/ Scouts recon/ Heavy support/ Forward observer. thats pretty much it for now i might make one or two more mechanical heros like a cat/predator or a more advance CE that his entire skill base is building turrets and what not. <-- please not that these are models with base behaviors, meaning no abilities have been added, all they have is an XPbar and base attributes


invantory- i have two systems im deciding on 1st one a bag slot(think WoW) or a open slot(think W3) ima wait for the beta test to decid
terraning- i did a massive revamp of the terran to match my current story line
Weapons- all units currently have 1 weapon permanent attached to them(may make upgrades)
storyline: i have written an start for it
Projected game time: 1-1.30 hours
save/load system- cannont be completed at this time

map undate:

abilties added: nc healing abilities. Rifleman abilities= grenade, Frist aid, crit bonus (8 ranks with max being 10% chance to do 9.8X damnage) and Basic Army training skill? <---needs to be tested

also a MAJOR revamp of the terran all areas are essentally now blank.

lastly NOTD First recon name taken off because of the current game NOTD ON? on SC2 and 2 notd game names would be kinda reduntant

Maybe you could make the rifle grenade ability require the grenade rounds item(oh wait, are you gonna put an item like that in there btw?)?

Do any heroes get a evasion-like ability?

What are the enemies like?

On a game I played called Swat:Aftermath P110221, after you selected your hero a certain hero(called a maverick I think) was able to select different kinds of weapons are their primary(thus it's attack speed,damage and AoE) does that idea appeal to you?

Map update:just triggering events and making custom enemy units

@panda the rifle/nade is already planned item. i was going to make it a weapon addon.

enemies: ok im using zerg models and some custom terran models for this but here is the basics

the enemy units names are not final. i know terror is straight outa UA it is going to change

eveasion ? like active or passive yes all marines are a natural passive abitlites

and i am making it so you can equip any weapon available to your class
so a sniper cannt pick up a shot gun but can pick up DMR, Sniper weapons and Rifles
Rifleman can pick up Rifles, Assault Rifles,and SMGs
Machine Gunners can only pick up machine gunner weapons
(i think you get the idea)
there is alot of weapon variations about 4-8 each class (Dmr, Rifles, Smg, Mg)
each have different stats for example a base sniper weapon is the

AW50 Anti-Matter rifle it as a 3 sec wait between shots, high damage, long range
the sniper could epuip a W2 Lilth rifle which has med damage, 1 second wait in between shots, med firing range
or a C12 Railgun which a has a 5 sec wait inbetween shots, Extremely long range, high damage


modifing the base weapon is a good idea but it would only be aviable to the "maverick class"

thats the current plan but this is also subject to change, but if it requires to much work for each weapon to make it like that(say each weapon requires like 2 hours of work to make it work correctly), im just gunna make the weapons system like ua, where u get one weapon upgrade... also i making it so you have accessories that take up "accessories slots" instead of the inventory slot. so a Target Assist will not take up an inventory slot. but grenades or a lazer designator will.

ok well now my astronomy report is done Smile (its about how when certain stars run out of fuel they can become gaint spheres of carbon) i can get back to my map. only bad news is becasue of school i can only work on this during weekends and sometimes during the day.

for example
a medal of honor will be awarded something like this
lets say Major Tom has killed 709 infected has had 0 deaths during the game completed it in 60 min and every one (4 other players) was alive at the end
so it the equation will look like MoH award= 10MoH points

MoH points and how it will be determined for MoH points is 1point for every any eqution will run at the end of game to see if one will be awarded

(number of kills + missions completed number)

=if it falls within or above the certia for a point 1point will be awarded so in majorsw toms case it will look like

since i really need a break from triggering/data editor im now working on terran. not just for eye candy but also for strategic stand point and to make thing more believable.


Also if anyone know C programing tell me. i'm pretty sure the triggering editor uses C for custom scripts and i dont know C or C++ ,so scripting for missions will be a major problem, im pretty much working within built in triggers which is working well atm.
