PostSubject: I need some hardware help   Sun 17 Apr - 21:49

So, i'm building a new computer but i'm having trouble picking the best parts for myself. If any of you crazy wc3 gamers know anything about computers and hardware please give me some help. I don't need help building it, i just need help picking out my components.

This is what i got so far, i'm aiming for high performance gaming machine that will last into future years. my price range is around 1800 - 1900 and I live in the us incase you looking up prices for parts. Total = $1,822, total is bound to change as prices fluctuate.

Thanks for anyone's help *cough* Archangel

Spoiler:

Go to NewEgg and look up some gear for your computer. It shouldn't be coming to that amount.

It's probably a lot easier if you had someone sitting right beside you and pointing out things which you are looking at through the website.

Someone could easily just list off parts, but things are outdated so quickly these days.

just check the http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/alienware-desktops-tab?c=nl&cs=nldhs1&l=nl&s=dhs site because it usually has the ''best'' possible Gaming pc's and if you look @ there components you will probably find some that suite you.

Edit: if the site is in dutch (and i think it iwll be as it states =nl, and =nld in the link itself'' just google ''Alienware''

Couple things, don't look like a bad little setup, but have you looked at any ASUS boards? But yeah, Newegg is a good place to search. Make sure you've check the capatabilities for everything to, nothing worse than ordering it all and something not fitting.

@kallsopp I did look at the asus mobo and i liked this one ASUS P6X58D Premium LGA 1366 Intel X58 but it costs a bit more than the gigabyte. I'm not sure if it is worth the cost yet i'm still looking into it. also i did make everything should be compatible if something isn't compatible on the list a heads up would be cool, i can make mistakes.

I've got a few PCG editions that have computer specs that could fit well into your price range and should work out fine
(from what I remember the Mid-Price one they had was about $1,500)

I don't know how the Gigabyte is set up, I do know that if you want, its easy to overclock with an ASUS board.

Start with a good mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131402 Ability to upgrade in the future with this board. x2 pci-e slots for very powerful gaming.

I like AMD processors because they run at lower temps and do more work per cycle rather than intel high speeds and slightly higher temps. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103849

I love Scythe Fans. Pick what one you want to use on your amd processor. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100008000%2050002108&IsNodeId=1&name=Scythe%20USA I use the 2000 model. Smile

Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314. You can buy more if u want but just this set will do u just fine.

You need a really good psu . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007.

I have this mouse and keyboard. would recommend it with all its features. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826102064
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823175012

Video card. So many choices. I like amd/ati cards. I recomend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150447 and then buy another one later and crossfire them.

Welp, all u have to do is find a case, case fan speakers and a monitor. Put it all together. As for hard drives and cd-roms, 60gig + hard drive sata will doo great. cd-rom whatever lol.
