This is a basic guide I made in about 5 minutes.
This covers about 99% of the cases where people are unable to host.

Step 1:

Go to your command line and enter:
Code:
 ipconfig
From here you can see your router IP address, and your local IP.

Step 2:
Go to your router. If you did not configure your user name/PW, then the user name is usually admin, password is left blank.

If you have different configuration on your router, and you don't know/remember them
then you're screwed (You can factory reset the router but that's a lot of work to set it back up after).

Step 3:

Go to your firewall/port settings (different per router) and enable bnet ports for your IP adderss discovered in step 1. battle.net ports are 6112 usually (see in your main wc3 menu)

Step 4:
Disable and/or port forward battle.net port through your firewalls.
Example:

to bad only Vvo can /edit posts here (his clan ''post area''),

but remove your IP or you might get some attacks/problems later on (blur it with Paint)
together with: (and the ADmin ******** picture is useless as most people know the basic Password with Admin ....... (wont tell it for the people who dont know it))

we can basicly go on your router now...

and your lacking a few things,

1. on Wc3 > Options > Gameplay you can change the port.
2. Routers are different per person, some are shown @ http://portforward.com/
3. @ your last step, you need to add the Ports, but for Vista you also need ot add the program itself.

(and move it to barracks as its not Rc601 Related plz)

Local IP is the same for everyone.

Would you be surprised if I say everyone I dealt with regarding this issue did not know this part?

we can basicly go on your router now...
You got this part wrong, you can basically go on your router now Smile

and your lacking a few things,
keep in mind, this is a basic guide, lacks many things, but has everything to get you in the right direction.

1. on Wc3 > Options > Gameplay you can change the port.
Not relevant (and I did mention it)

2. Routers are different per person, some are shown @ http://portforward.com/
Port Forward doesnt work for me so it's useless to illustrate in this guide

3. @ your last step, you need to add the Ports, but for Vista you also need ot add the program itself.
Didn't want to bother with specifics for the OS/Software firewall, you could be using some Linux or 25 firewalls for all I can say

(and move it to barracks as its not Rc601 Related plz)
This was done in 5 minutes to attempt to help VV, didnt want to spend the same time trying to blabber the same things over and over on clan chat. I figured this is clan related so I posted under the relevant clan.
