PostSubject: Rc601 The Newbies Guide   Sat 22 Jan - 21:45

(a starter guide on Rc601, special Thanks to everithing4me as i used his Lay out of his NOTD beginners guide, if you dont want me to use this plz tell and i will remove it)

Introduction
Rc601 is a zombie-survival game that focuses on completing a certain objective while trying to stay alive. Map is made by Jk2pach.

Basics

Ammunition
Ammunition (ammo for short) is a must have in Rc601, As without ammo you can not shoot.
Ammo is found in Equipment Crates and on certain places around the map. like Bases and certain hills.

Ailments
When Zombies attack you have a chance of getting an additional ailment, these ailments can do damage/slow or leech mana.

all ailments can be dispelled with Purge from the Backpack.

Poison:
Poison does 5 DPS and is permanent unless its dispelled. Poison is actually really easy to dispel as there are a lot of class spells and items to dispel poison.

Fracture:
Fracture slows you down by 50%. Fracture can be applied to you when you get hit but also if you jump down from an altitude higher or the same as 2. some mountains have multiple levels of altitude. once its higher or the same as 2 you will get a fracture.

Fracture can be dispelled by only a few class spells. like Biologist's, Physicist and Combat Engineer's Medical Post.

Biohazard:
Biohazard is a debuff that leeches your Energy (mana) per second by 5 for 60 seconds. It can be removed by Reloader and certain spells.

Skills (hotkey Z)

Skills is a extra menu with custom ability's that help you to survive or do basic actions like activating/deactivating Night Vision.

all abilities in a row:

Jump (Q) (jumps to a target position)
Toggle Crawl Mode (Z) (toggles crawling or standing up)
Sprint (T) (increases your Movement Speed by 50%)
Nightvision (N) (activates/deactivates Nightvision)
Open Equipment Crate (A) (opens an equipment crate)
Manual Reload (R) (Manually Reload your gun)
Drop Magazine (M) (drops a magazine into your inventory. if its full it drops on the ground under you)
Feeling (Allows you to see invisible units within 1000 range)
Safety (S) (stops/activates auto attacking with your gun)
Enter/Exit Vehicle (P) (exits/leaves a vehicle)

4 (sometimes 5) of these are the most commonly used:

Sprint, Crawl, Open Crate and Jump (night vision is extra if the Blackout missions start)

be sure to use these 4/5 skills as often as needed. they can save your life.

Choosing your class:
Before the zombie massacre begins, you have to choose your soldier class.
There are 2 classes available to beginners: Security Officer and Biologist.

Security Officer. (SO)
The most basic and easiest class to play.
the SO has good damage, good range and the ability to heal himself.
Has a guard dog as a permanent ''tank''

Biologist. (BI, Bio)
The healer class of Rc601, and 1 of the few classes that can revive.
Biologist has a pushback effect with its normal attacks. useful for keeping those zombies off you.
Biologists lack damage though and should be accompanied by a Damage Dealer.

Save/Load system.
Every time you play the map you can Save and Load codes. these codes save the amount of experience you gain. you can use this with the simple commands -save and
-load. Once you type -save a Code will appear on your screen. you can type this code and check it with the -check XXXXXXXXX command. I personally Suggest using GamecaptureX. its a fast way to copy your save code so you do not make mistakes in your codes. (link: http://www.jk2pach.com/t514-gamecapture-avoid-boring-savecodes

Getting Started.

Once the game starts you will have to pick your hero. if you have a code be sure to
-load!

Alright the beginners have 2 choices: Biologist and Security Officer. For new guys i suggest picking an Security Officer. it has a lot of survivability and has its own personal tank to avoid damage. If you have experience with other zombie survivor games i suggest picking Biologist as it is harder to survive with. but its a great help with its heals and supports.

Basic ''Rules''

1. STAY WITH YOUR ALLIES!!!!!! Do not go solo if your new. Solo players will be overran by zombies quickly.
2. Do not Teamkill. Teamkilling on purpose will result in a ban from the bot.
3. Do not tank zombies. Marines have some hp but its not enough to constantly tank the horde of zombies.
4. Do not kill the units/buildings/vehicles you have to protect for a mission. failing a mission will result in no experience gained. which means you will not advance to higher ranks.
5. Check if you see any green pings once a mission starts. they often tell you where to go.
6. Listen to higher ranked people. they often have experience in the game and know how to survive and do the missions.

Story Mode

Missions and the Suggestions for the missions are in the same colour

Chapter 1 ''What Happened?''

Starter Missions:

Once you picked your hero, move to the village north-north-west of the spawn point.
After a minute or 2 the first mission begins. there are 2 possible ''first'' missions:

The Worst Pilot: On this mission Captain Barley crash lands to the west of the village. the mission objective is to defend Captain Barley and the villagers that have moved to the crash site. You will have to kill an X-amount of zombies till the mission objective reaches 100%.

Suggestion: just survive on the field near the pilot till the mission is over.

A Strange Night: On this mission you will have to protect the villagers of the village. You will have to kill an X-amount of zombies till the mission objective reaches 100%.

Suggestion: just stay in the town and survive in the village till the mission is over.

Second Missions:

Scout: 3 GW-frogs spawn and ''jump'' eastwards towards the Mechwalker Facillity. you have to escort them to the facillity.

Suggestion: There is no real need in following them as they move faster then you do (without sprint) and you will get killed fast when your solo. just stay near the big group and wait till the mission completes itself.

Blood Samples: You must find an X-amount of blood samples for the researchers. an easy mission where you have to find blood sample ITEMS on the GROUND!

Suggestion: Move Solo if you think you can handle it. but if your new to survivor games stay with 1-2 extra people. be ready to fight your first Evolved zombie on this stage. make sure he does nott hit you as he hits really hard. just keep running + shooting and sprint/jump if needed. but find the samples first and THEN kill it.

Supply Incoming: The villagers that are coming from the village will move west to a Convoy. after they arrived at the convoy, the convoy + villagers will move north to the Rc601 entrance. you will have to escort the villagers first then the whole group.

Suggestion: Stick near the big group of villagers together with all allies. power in numbers!!!. be sure to not tank any zombie as they can really stack up on this mission. be ready to fight your first Evolved zombie on this stage. make sure he does not hit you as he hits really hard. just keep running + shooting and sprint/jump if needed.

The villagers arrive at the convoy at some point. once your at that stage be ready to fight your first Evolved zombie on this stage. make sure he doesnt hit you as he hits really hard. just keep running + shooting and sprint/jump if needed. once its dead move back to the convoy and defend it.

Rally to town: The villagers will move to the big town in this mission. they will start by moving to the west till they reach the road. once they reached the road they will follow the road eastwards to town.

Suggestion: protect the villagers and survive. Stick near the big group of villagers together with all allies. power in numbers!!!. be sure to not tank any zombie as they can really stack up on this mission

be ready to fight your first Evolved zombie on this stage. make sure he does not hit you as he hits really hard. just keep running + shooting and sprint/jump if needed.

Hold Them Alive: The villagers will move to the despawn point at the end of the road to the far-east in this mission. they will start by moving to the east till they reach the Vehicle Depot. once they reached the Depot they will move north through the river till they reached the road. then they will walk to there despawn point on the east.

Suggestion: protect the villagers and survive. Stick near the big group of villagers together with all allies. power in numbers!!!. be sure to not tank any zombies as they can really stack up on this mission

be ready to fight your first Evolved zombie on this stage. make sure he doesnt hit you as he hits really hard. just keep running + shooting and sprint/jump if needed. Careful for zombies running to you from the higher edges in the river.

Failed Airdrop: You will have to find 6 scientists and escort them to there despawn point in the south-west part of the river.

Suggestion: Stay in town if you have more experienced people in your group.

if those are not around then you will have to move to the 6 green pings and walk closely to the scientists until you read '' X/6 Scientists Found.'' and the scientist starts moving. (if your close to 1 and it will not move then its bugged. then you will have to kill him.)

There is no real need in protecting them. but its advised to move somewhere close to the despawn point to give them cover if needed.

Third Mission:

Omicron Rush: probably the hardest mission on chapter 1. you will have to defend a scientist on a mountain on the south-west. this scientist will be attacked by waves of omicron. these mobs are ranged and hit quite hard.

Suggestion: extreme caution is advised. once this mission starts you have to sprint on the hill as FAST as you can, as there are a few marines on that hill. be sure that you do not tank the omicrons as there damage is high and they attack in groups of 3-10. be sure to use grenades/bombs etc on the big groups and stay behind the marines. they will be your tanks.

Vortex Assault: A Vortex will be spawned somewhere around the Vehicle Depot. The Vortex will spawn little Zerglings (Gamma Mutations) and will have a 6 minutes timer limit.

Suggestion: Move to the vortex but with discretion. careful for the zombies moving around the map and near the vortex, especially the Mutations that it spawns. nuke everything you got on the Vortex. once there are zombies kill those to avoid damage.

Power Plant: zombies will attack one of the generators at the Power Plant and you have to defend that generator.

Suggestion: sprint to the Power Plant as fast as you can. as the zombies will automatically run to it. after you're there take up defensive positions near the entrances and pwn teh zombs!

External Outpost: (don't know the exact name yet) There are a lot of zombies incoming so you will have to survive. it is suggested you move to the external outpost but its not needed.

Suggestion: none really, just survive. (stay in 1 group)

External Outpost generator: (dont know the exact name) The zombies are attacking the Generator on the External Outpost. move there and defend it!

Suggestion: sprint to the Generator as fast as you can. as the zombies will automatically run to it. after your there take up defensive positions near the entrances and pwn teh zombs!

Tango Squad: Defend the group of humvee's to the north-west of Town (not Village) that's kinda all that there is to do.

Suggestion: don't go near the trees and hill around the humvee's as zombies can sneak up on you from there. so stay near the humvee's.

Seal the Entrance: 2 Pepper Shakers will attack the Rc601 entrance. you have to defend the pepper shakers, NOT THE ENTRANCE. do NOT get near the entrance as the pepper shakers shoot there.

Suggestion: Stay near the pepper shakers and defend them while staying clear from the trees. those trees can have zombies sneak up on you.

Teleporter: The Rc staff will be airdropped to move to the teleporter. they will spawn at the External Outpost and move to the Old Teleporter.

Suggestion: Move to the Teleporter and kill everything near it. nothing more really.

The North Hill: Protect a Telecom officer on the hill to the North-East of the Rc601 entrance.

Suggestion: Move to the hill as quickly as possible and stay near the Telecom officer. do not get close to the trees as zombies might be behind them.

i will go on till the end of chapter 1. then some1 else can pick it up if they want.

any suggestions can be added or any changes.

I think we should make this stand out more... not being hidden. So we should put like a Strategy/Tips/Help board. for all the games we host?
